Drew Carey, the iconic host of “The Price is Right” as well as the star of one of the most popular shows of all time, has come out in support of Dilbert and the 1st Amendment.

“I love Dilbert,” said Carey, who was often compared to the character on his show, “and I love freedom of speech.”

Carey’s position on the whole issue is simple: Scott Adams has a right to say what he believes without consequences to his work. “It doesn’t make a lot of sense that people are canceling a really good comic strip because of something the author said.”

Carey continued to compare the injustice to his time as a US Marine: “When I was in the Corps we were told over and over that we fought for freedom, so it makes me mad when someone’s is restricted. I mean,..imagine holding something an athlete says when they’re not playing against them. No? Why? Because it doesn’t matter what they think as long as they perform their jobs. So why is Adams any different.”

By this point in the interview, the irony had become so palpable that this reporter could smell asparagus. Whatever that means. Carey said his views on athletes don’t include the issues with kneeling during the National Anthem. “That’s different,” he said, “those people are disrespecting those of us who served.”

Drew Carey is an American legend, a hero who served his country, and an advocate for nearly all types of freedoms. God Bless him and God bless the USA.
